About the Author

Rabison Shumba is a young African entrepreneur who has interests in Information and Communication Technology, Agriculture and Mining. He is also a motivational speaker, trainer and author. His book, The Greatness Manual and various online articles are tools for personal and professional development. Together with 100 Career Expert Authors, Rabison co-authored a book 101 Great Ways to Enhance your career due to be published in December 2010.

Rabison has a personal vision of impacting the lives of children in marginalized communities by creating platforms for career counsel and guidance, information empowerment and capacity building through the Greatness Factory Trust, where he currently holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Acting Executive Director. Rabison believes that the effect of the lack of adequate information empowerment platforms has the potential to cause learners leaving schools to never realize an equitable chance at bettering their circumstances and therefore contributing to the downward spiral into poverty. He is actively involved in the organization of career enhancement and guidance colloquiums to propel and inspire both young and mature professionals to greatness. His areas of expertise include strategy, leadership, personal and professional development.

Rabison has a wealth of commercial experience having worked for CompuServe (Pvt) Ltd, Anglo American plc over a period spanning 10 years. He is the Founder and CEO for Infotech Solutions P/L based in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Rabison has traveled to United States of America, England, China and within the Southern African Region on both ministry and business missions.

Born in 1973, Rabison is first born in a family of 14. Even though he came out best in his O Levels in 1990, he could not advance to Advanced Level due to lack of school fees. He proceeded to obtain a Diploma In Education with the University of Zimbabwe with a bias towards Computing. He is pursuing further studies in Business Leadership with Calvary University (UK).

He has made enormous sacrifices to get his 14 siblings through school and college. Rabison is married to Jackie, and they have two daughters.

Thank you Jeremiah. Lets explore the greatness journey together. Everyone has a story on where they are coming from and going. I believe as we unravel the truths on greatness, a wake up call will ring in the hearts and minds of everyone who hears the call to RISE and take the correct place, of RULERSHIP and LEADERSHIP not just remain in DEALERSHIP. Oops I maybe coming up with another post. Let me save that for another post.

Thank you mr rabison Shumba for sharing your life’s experinces with us, its time we have our own Zimbabwean leaders stepping up to Mould the next generation to be who they are meant to be and not leave it to the media, Greatness is for everyone, but it is just the few that know it that then become great,But with this kind of a tool, we can let everyone know that they are made for Greatness, God doesnt make Rejects, nobody is a nobody. So thank you sir for opening our eyes to see the greatness that is within.

    • 11/02/2010 at 10:54 am

Ishe. Thank you so much for the kind words. It is my desire that the next generation does more than the former generations. Revelation should increase, action should be on the rise. The Nexgen has a priviledge to doge the errors of the former. How can they if they are not told how, when, how and why not. Someone has to tell their story. Thank you once again.

I am truly honoured to have known and taken part in your destiny formulation and fulfillment. We have shared life Simon and I cherish that. Thank you for your kind words and for the seed you have sown in my life and that of my family. I am glad to have been your leader, team mate and close friend. It was not by accident but by divine design. I remember the “pachedu” moments. Your support and counsel has worked wonders in my life and its time I thanked you publicly too. When the harvest comes, your too are a partaker that. You shared in the tough moments, you truly share in the divine reaping moments.
I thank God in every remembrance of you and your family’s contribution to my destiny. I salute you sir.

Bro, u came thru a harsh background. However God always favours people like you. Your background sounds too painful but i think sometimes we deserve to go thru this just for purification process. I am still going thru your doc and so far it sounds well structured. You are a blessed man and keep on riding. soon u will be there.

Thank u for coming up with such a piece of great work.

    • 19/02/2010 at 11:13 am

Prosper. I don’t regret the PAIN for hidden in it are the GAINs I have come to acquire over the years. Nothing teaches better than experience and it would be selfish not to share my story with my generation. If this can happen to me, it can happen to all who set their minds to something. I hope my story and that which I have received from the University of Life Experiences will transform generations beyond my grave.

You sure did and I know our synergies will go further as we see mutual ways of growing in business and personal life. You are a good man. Be sure to buy the book and invite Londoners to tap in. We will launch there too. You will be informed in due course. Blessings

I have found another site to add to my daily list of pages visited. Sir, this is awesome. No, we have used that that word “awesome” to describe so many things , some which are nowhere close to being awesome.I’m positive that as I continue reading, the proper words to describe this loaded site will come. There is a lot that people like are going to learn from this work.

    Thank Shumba

Mos def a great read this. I always had a feeling that I was rubbing shoulders with greatness. The journey has been long, the route has been hard but look where you are now and how many lives you have and are still touching with your work. You need to register an International Foundation coz I don’t see you stopping here. A true inspiration, big brother, leader and friend you are.I can never thank you enough for taking me serious when nobody did and making me a part of the most important event in your life. You believed in me more than I did in myself.

May your life be an example of God’s greatness.

Don’t mention young brother. I believe in you even though you go silent for years. You are prophetic as I am registering Greatness Factory Foundation / Greatness Factory Trust where the focus is in bringing the best out of all those I meet. You will be hearing more. This book will be part of the seed to generate funds for the needy and disadvantaged communities. I have started some work with Zimbabwean musicians (upcoming, experienced etc). Long road it has been but very fulfilling when I see others mature and graduate in purposeful living

You have taken me back to that day, a saturday afternoon at my place in chi town when you unvailed your vision to me and dorca. I didnt take you very seriously then but now your vision is bearing fruit.Continue walking right my brother, it works. You have just inspired me that anything you have passion in will be if you just believe and dont doubt.
I speak life eternal to anything that touches your heart.
Blessings. I need to meet with you sometime. My details havent changed.

    • 24/03/2010 at 4:32 pm

Nellie. You are one hero I need to celebrate whilst you live. You and Dorcas risked getting into business with a young boy, who knew very little but had a big vision. We haven’t arrived yet but I continue to hold on to the same words I said close to 9 years ago. You inspired me by your faith and encouragement. I salute you and the world has to know that you are part of greatness. Together we will change the world for the better. Thank you for your input. I don’t take it for granted. The birthing of Isikwe into Infotech into Greatness. You spoke and it is happening. The power of words. Bless you.

Must say i’m impressed Rabison. I got a group email from Max Soutter (from Bizsetup Group) a while ago refering to you as a great example of another upcoming blogger in Zim. I didnt expect much…but i’m in shock! You’re really creating a valuable resource here for all dream achievers.

I love your posts, been reading your whole ‘top 10 series’ and enjoying it thoroughly. You really take the time to go into detail about your subject.

    Thank you for your efforts.

    God bless you

Thank you Greg. Do you know that I wake up each morning and I don’t have anything to say. Just then it comes like rain and I cant contain the speed at which the mind goes. I list all my points and believe me, when I get to 10 points my mind rests. I am glad you are enjoying. Refer others to this. I can’t wait to see what you will start too. I hope what Max and I are doing will help us all come out and do something about what have either learnt or experienced. Blessings
